Email mp3s to your Verizon cell phone!!

Verizon has a kit that comes with a data transfer cable and some software to get mp3s on your cell phone. It works great, but the kit costs $30. There are other ways too, the most popular is to use a program called BitPIM and to buy a cheap data cable on eBay for like $5……so, here is the free way:

Use any sound editor to edit your favorite song into a ringtone clip. I like Audacty, but you need the Lame plugin and both are free. Make sure to keep the song under 30 seconds and you can reduce the bit rate to 112kpbs or even less…. oh and make sure the file is less than 350k.

Once you have your song ready, use your email to send the file through xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com. Just replace the x’s with your ten digit number, and voila!

As long as you’re subscribed to a text messaging plan, its completely free!
